There's no rule at Bethel regarding mustaches.
That said, if you look at the photographs used in the publications, you will NEVER see a white dude with any sort of facial hair. You will only see blacks and hispanics with it. Which is dumb because as we all know, those photos are supposed to be 'guidelines' for JW dress and grooming. That means the FDS doesn't want white dudes with facial hair.
i'm thinking the watchtower fears them and the bad publicity they generate.
with all the lawsuits pending over childmolestation issue and the $28,000,000 conti case outcome in the balance and close to a conclusion, the gb would like to hide from public view, and so the move to a more secluded spot with tighter security.. i'm thinking that perhaps many will take oportunity to give them a good send off before they leave especially if they loose the conti case..

he told me the society had put word out that they were collecting old literature.
i asked him why but he couldn't give me a definite answer.

Ok. Do you have any proof to back that up because everything I've read has said the opposite. JW's were encouraged to get older publications for their libraries. I was a witness in the 80's and never had anyone mention a thing about getting rid of old lit for personal libraries.
I'm downloading the WT Library CD so I can get some relevant articles.

Well Nathan, you better pack your bags. The library in my local KH has TONS of old publications. I will get pictures for you. Yes, I am going to visit the hall for a Sunday meeting just to get pictures.
Plus one of my responsibilities as an MS was to make sure the KH library was as complete as possible. As Blondie said, older congregations will be more likely to have these older publications unless someone donates old books to it. I've seen this happen.
